Sara Ghorbani escaped the Islamic Republic of Iran and eventually made her way to Canada, believing she had finally reached a place where she could speak freely about what she had experienced.
But escaping Iran was only the beginning.
After speaking openly about Islam and the oppression she witnessed and experienced, Sara says she found herself labeled an “Islamophobe,” attacked for telling her story, and treated as though her testimony was the problem.
Today, Sara joins me to share her journey, the challenges she faced after reaching Canada, and what happens when those who have experienced Islamic oppression firsthand discover that telling the truth can bring a new kind of hostility in the West.
